Please keep an eye out for Sassafras, a dog last seen 5/9/2012 in the Chevy Chase area. She has also been tracked through Rock Creek Park, Tenleytown, Bethesda, and 16th Street, so she may be seen in one of those areas or others further away. She is young and fit, so has the ability to travel a long distance!
If you spot Sassafras, please try to snap a picture, note the exact location and time and call us ASAP day or night at 202-664-2301 or email findsassafras at gmail dot com. Do not chase her! She is fast and will run!
If Sassafras wanders onto your property, please close the gate to keep her there and phone us so we can fetch her. (Even once she's supposedly confined to a yard, please don't chase after her because that might motivate her to squeeze through any small gaps in the fence.)
She is a 4 year old brown/white/black beagle mix with a distinctive white-tipped tail that curls back towards her head and ears more erect and smaller than those of a typical beagle. Photos and videos of Sassafras, plus updates on our search for her, are at http://www.findsassafras.net
